Introduction and Commitment

Paperbox Health is fully committed to promoting gender equality at all levels of the organization. As an Italian startup operating in the digital health and early childhood education sectors, where the majority of educators and healthcare workers are women, we recognize the importance of building inclusive, equitable, and supportive structures that reflect our social and professional context.
This Gender Equality Plan (GEP) is aligned with Horizon Europe requirements and builds on our mission to address learning disabilities through accessible, inclusive, and scalable digital solutions.

Goals

  • Ensure the annual collection and analysis of gender-disaggregated data.

  • Provide targeted training on gender equity and unconscious bias.

  • Design inclusive technologies and content that are sensitive to gender-sensitive learning models.

  • Promote territorial equity through open and accessible educational materials.

Compliance with Horizon Europe mandatory requirements

Awareness-raising and training: Mandatory annual training on:

  • Gender bias and inclusive communication

  • Ethical technology design for inclusiveness

Provided in accessible and intuitive formats for all levels of digital literacy

Equality in recruitment and career progression

  • Anonymous CV screening

  • Fair performance evaluation processes

  • Mentoring opportunities for women in technology and product roles

Gender in Product Design and Research

  • DINO will be evaluated for gender performance variance.

  • Insights integrated into product updates to ensure neutrality and inclusivity.

Support for educators and assistants

Paperbox Health is deeply rooted in the daily reality of early childhood education, where the majority of teachers are women and mothers often play the role of primary educators.
Our training modules are designed for users with low levels of technology, ensuring intuitive access and easy usability.

These resources support female educators and caregivers who may have limited digital experience and include:

  • Step-by-step visual guides

  • Simple and intuitive interface design

  • Compatibility with basic devices and networks

A significant portion of this content will be published as Open Educational Resources (OER) to:

  • Promote territorial equity

  • Facilitate community-level knowledge sharing

The training will cover:

  • Use of DINO in the classroom

  • Identification of early learning difficulties

  • Inclusive and gender-responsive pedagogy

Communication

  • Internal launch via plenary meeting and internal newsletter

  • Biannual progress updates shared with staff and external partners

  • Social media and blog posts summarizing milestones and impact

Monitoring and evaluation

  • Annual review of GEP implementation and KPIs

  • Staff feedback surveys and inclusiveness perception audits

  • Public reporting of results every two years

Review and updates

This plan will be reviewed and updated every two years, with the active input of team members, consultants, and stakeholders.
